Backyard Burning

Open Burning Season:

Backyard burning is allocated for two seasons: Spring, from March 1 to June 15, and Fall, from October 1 to December 15. However, it may be closed on any given day during the season, due to weather or air quality issues, so people are required to check the appropriate burn line on a day-to-day basis. The burn lines are normally updated each day by 8 am. There is no backyard burning allowed out of season.

Our reflective address markers offer these benefits:

  • Better visibility. Especially at night, when reflected by headlights and when it counts the most. Help 911, fire, and law enforcement find your home quickly.

  • Low cost and peace of mind. An inexpensive way to help ensure home safety and security.

Do I really need one of these address signs? My house already has numbers on it.

To find out, drive or walk up and down the street in front of your house. Put yourself in the  position of a rescuer that's racing to your house in a life or death situation. Can your address be seen clearly and easily from the street, at a distance, and especially at night? Statistics indicate that Emergency Services receive millions of phone calls per year for emergencies and accidents that occur at home. Rescue personnel will tell you that finding the home is the hardest part. Wasted minutes and seconds can mean all the difference. If you have numbers that can't be seen or are small, peeling, falling off, faded, etc. then the answer is YES, I need a new address sign.

Help yourself and your community by making sure your home can be found easily and quickly.

We will install a 6" X 12" reflective alumicor sign at your home. The sign will have 3" numbers showing your address and will be mounted on an aluminum post.

REFLECTIVE Address Signs

Can your home be found quickly?

. Unfortunately, emergencies can, and do happen. When precious seconds can mean the difference between life and death, you want to be sure you've done everything you can to put the odds in your favor.

MANY PEOPLE WHO LIVE IN THE RURAL AREA DO NOT HAVE CLEARLY MARKED DRIVEWAYS. THIS PREVENTS EMERGENCY PERSONNEL FROM LOCATING HOUSES IN A TIMELY MANOR.

These signs are highly reflective and very visible. It will be easier for emergency services, visiting friends, family, and repair and delivery persons to find your home, especially at night. In addition, it looks great and is inexpensive.

Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA) is one of the leading causes of preventable death in the United States.  Early application of bystander cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and defibrillation from an AED dramatically improve a person’s chance of survival.

PULSEPOINT RESPOND

PulsePoint Respond empowers everyday citizens to provide life-saving assistance to victims of sudden cardiac arrest.

App users who have indicated they are trained in CPR and willing to assist in case of an emergency can be notified if someone nearby is having a cardiac emergency and may require CPR.

If the cardiac emergency is in a public place, the location-aware application will alert users in the vicinity of the need for CPR simultaneous with the dispatch of advanced medical care.  The application also directs these potential rescuers to the exact location of the closest Automated External Defibrillator (AED).

Pulsepoint Respond/Pulsepoint aed

Yamhill Communications Agency (YCOM) is taking steps to connect those who know CPR with those who need it through implementation of the PulsePoint program, which consists of two lifesaving smartphone apps:

  • PulsePoint Respond

  • PulsePoint AED

PULSEPOINT AED

When a cardiac emergency strikes, finding an AED can help save a life.  But that takes knowing where AEDs are located. PulsePoint AED lets you report and update AED locations so that emergency responders, including nearby citizens trained in CPR and off-duty professionals such as firefighters, police officers, and nurses, can find an AED close to them when a cardiac emergency occurs.

Describe the location, snap a picture, and the information is stored for local authorities to verify.  After that, the AED location data is made available to anyone using the PulsePoint Respond. Submit AED locations here: https://aedregistry.pulsepoint.org/index.php
